News & Notes for 10/21/09
There was an update on the situation with the signing of Nigel McGuinness to TNA. Supposedly, the reason that WWE neglected to sign him was because he reportedly had failed their physical screening. It’s no secret that McGuinness has been hurt a few times over the years, what wrestler hasn’t, but for him to not be able to pass a physical is just silly to me considering that WWE guys can pass the drug screening tests when they obviously are on the juice! So just because of his torn bicep injuries and concussions in ROH, he’s not going to be [...]

Backstage, ECW General Manager Tiffany welcomes the newest diva Rosa Mendez to the show, and is interrupted by Chris Jericho looking to scout for talent to join Team Smackdown and is kicked out of the office.
Jericho runs into William Regal, Ezekiel Jackson, and Vladimir Kozlov backstage, asks them about possibly joining Team Smackdown. GM Tiffany interrupts and tells Jericho he’s going [...]
TNA Nabs WWE Bound Talent
Prowrestling.net reported earlier that TNA has swooped in and signed Ring of Honor star, Nigel McGuinness.
This comes as quite a shock to the wrestling world because as of yesterday, EVERYONE (myself included) believed that McGuinness had signed in principal with WWE. This is a HUGE pick up for TNA! McGuinness is one of ROH’s all time greats. He has the 2nd longest World title reign in ROH history behind current TNA star, Samoa Joe. The report said that McGuinness is at the TV tapings taking place this week, so we might even see him in the 6-sided ring as early [...]
