Wrestling’s Next Legacy

Posted by: oldskoolwarrior

If you’re following the current WWE product, you know of the faction known as Legacy made up of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted Dibiase.  Over the past year or so, Legacy has gloated over the fact that they are the spawn of some of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the business (“Cowboy” Bob Orton, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, and “The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase), and have given off a sense of entitlement in the way they carry themselves.  However, soon the time will come when this “Legacy” will crumble and a new group of next generation superstars will make their presence known in the WWE.  I wanted to introduce you to some faces you might be seeing on TV over the course of the next year or so that have come from “wrestling royalty.”

Taylor and Windham Rotunda (Current Ring Names – Bo Rotundo and Duke Rotundo)

These brothers have been tag teaming in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), and they are 3rd generation superstars.  Grandsons of Blackjack Mulligan, sons of Mike Rotunda aka I.R.S., and nephews of Barry and Kendall Windham.

Joe and Amy Hennig

Joe and Amy Hennig are another set of siblings that are 3rd generation superstars.  Joe is currently under contract with WWE in Florida Championship.  Amy is under contract as well, but is currently training under Harley Race in World League Wrestling out of Missouri.  Grandson/granddaughter of Larry “The Axe” Hennig and son/daughter of Curt Hennig aka Mr. Perfect.

Brett DiBiase

Yes, there is one more Dibiase waiting in the wings for his shot a the family business.  Grandson of “Iron” Mike DiBiase, son of “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, and brother of current WWE star, Ted DiBiase Jr.  He is also the half brother of Michael DiBiase, who unfortunately for him, hasn’t had the greatest of luck with WWE or the United States legal system.

Wes Brisco

Wes is a second generation wrestler who is currently signed to Florida Championship.  His father is Gerald Brisco best known for being part of the original Brisco Brothers and his time as one of Vince McMahon’s stooges along with Pat Patterson.

Ricky Steamboat Jr.

Ricky is a second generation wrestler who has wrestled in Japan and Puerto Rico.  He is the son of Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.

I have to make mention on this topic that Nick Hogan, son of wrestling’s biggest name, Hulk Hogan, has started training in California under former WWE star, Rikishi.  While I know he’s not going to be a big name like his father, I think it’s worthy of a note.
