WWE Superstars – 1/21/10

Here’s a quick rundown of what happened on WWE Superstars on WGN America:

Jillian Hall came out to the ring and sang a song for the crowd and made everyone’s ear bleed!

Jillian Hall vs. Kelly Kelly
WINNER: Kelly Kelly via pin fall after dropping a step up Leg Drop

Shelton Benjamin vs. Vance Archer
WINNER: Shelton Benjamin via Oklahoma Roll pin fall

Chris Jericho vs. Kane
WINNER: Kane via count out after Jericho ran for the hills escaping the Choke Slam

QUICK THOUGHTS:

I have to give Kelly Kelly credit.  She’s come a long way from being just a piece of eye candy to a piece of eye candy with some wrestling ability.  She’s slowly getting better than some of the other divas, but the one thing I have to harp on with Kelly is the fact that everything is telegraphed.  You would think that someone who’s been in the ring more could teach her more about making the moves look more spontaneous.  I can’t help but notice the time she stops, thinks for a second (insert blonde joke here), and then executes the move.  I guess maybe that will come with more in ring time, but then again she’s been wrestling now for over 2 years with WWE.

Tonight was Vance Archer’s first pin fall loss in his WWE career.  AWWW!  Poor guy!  He didn’t lose too much heat by losing the match.  The rivalry will continue between Archer and Benjamin, bet on it!

What a treat!  Chris Jericho is on Superstars.  Usually we don’t get to see the bigger names on a Superstars card.  Bummer of an ending though.  If you didn’t know, the card for Superstars is made up of “dark matches” from the TV tapings.  If you aren’t familiar with the term, it means a match that happens before the official start of the program, kind of like getting an extra match for free!
