Sunday Funday – Links/News

AUTHOR: Daniel Correia | IN: Wrestling | COMMENTS: None Yet |

Greetings to everyone out there in the world!  It’s Sunday, and I’m getting ready to be lazy and watch football!  I figured I’d pass along some funny links, news, and maybe even a rumor or two to give you all something to read today.

One of my favorite things to look up on Youtube is called Botchamania and now they have their own website! Botchamania is a collection of wrestling videos where either wrestlers/announcers either botched their spots or something they said in a promo/commentary. It has it’s moments where it’s really funny to watch, and it also has it’s moments where it’s painful to watch, i.e. Sid Vicious breaking his leg… OUCH!!!

There’s a rumor going around that DX is going to be disbanded after the Royal Rumble.  I have two words for you… THANK GOD!  DX is over with fans, I’ll give them that, but they’ve had their time… well multiple times, and now it’s about the time where you give other wrestlers a chance to succeed.  I’m sure that WWE could push a certain faction to bigger things ::COUGH::HART DYNASTY::COUGH::

There’s also another rumor going around that Edge could make a surprise return at the Royal Rumble as an entrant in the big match.  Edge has been gone with a torn Achilles tendon.  If he does come back, I’d bet money on Edge and Chris Jericho starting a feud leading up to WrestleMania.  If you don’t remember, Edge and Jericho were the Unified Tag Team Champions when Edge got hurt.  Jericho made comments to the effect that he was the one carrying the team and was smart enough to have a clause written in his contract that if Edge got hurt that he could select a replacement partner, which turned out to be Big Show.

This week, on his Myspace page, Jake “The Snake” Roberts is officially retiring after 35 years in the business.  He said, “I cherish every moment I had good or bad, bottom line is I never had a bad moment in the ring.”  While I’ll give Jake credit for being one of the best performers when it came to the psychological aspects of the wrestling business, I can’t help but state that he’s had his fair share of problems out side of the ring and has had to deal with many personal demons.  I hope that Jake can focus now on getting things organized in his life and enjoy his retirement.

I wanted to leave you with a bit of gratitude.  This past week has been the best week for DailyDDT since I started back in mid-October.  I wanted to thank you all for following me on here, on Twitter & Facebook, and for those who click my links through WrestlingBlips.com and Ballhype.com.  Let’s continue the charge!  I want to be the best blog in the wrestling world!  Please leave me comments, suggestions, and opinions, anything you think might help to better DailyDDT.  Once again, thank you!  Enjoy your Sunday, and I’ll see you all tomorrow!
