Prohibition On Beer Money

Beer Money Inc.

There was an article that came out the other day on http://www.pwtorch.com that talked about former TNA Tag Team Champions, Beer Money Inc. being practically “expendable” by creative team member, Vince Russo.  Apparently, Beer Money member, James Storm, was a little pissed off that he and his tag team partner, Robert Roode, didn’t get a larger role on the LIVE Impact back on January 4th, and this statement by Russo was a way to “send them a message.”

Now I don’t know where they officially stand in the grand scheme of the locker room, but considering the diminishing role of tag team wrestling in TNA (another thing that TNA is following in WWE’s footsteps), I would hope that Beer Money are NOT let go.  Both members of Beer Money have been tag team guys for a majority of their careers in TNA with both having short singles stints that really didn’t get them anywhere in the main title picture.  If these guys are “expendable” as the article stated, well, I believe that you could kiss tag team wrestling goodbye in main stream wrestling period.  The TNA Tag Titles are on two guys who were thrown together a few months ago (Matt Morgan & Hernandez), the former champions, British Invasion, have only been on tv twice in the past month if my memory serves, both of the Motor City Machine Guns are suffering from injuries, and the newest tag team to be signed, Generation Me, have had only one match on TV and that was two weeks ago.  Since Hulk Hogan has been here, the whole division is going down hill, I mean for God’s sake, the Nasty Boys have wrestled on TV!

It would be a damn shame if these two talented wrestlers got let go.  I could see Robert Roode maybe getting picked up by WWE, but he would probably get stuck in developmental hell and would never even be seen on WWE’s main programming.  I don’t think James Storm has the talent as a singles wrestler to cut it anywhere else but TNA.  Even then, he probably would flounder because of the fact that as of right now, great wrestlers like Daniels and Samoa Joe are being used sparingly.  I hope that this comment from Russo was just an off hand comment and nothing solid.  If it’s true, well, to quote James Storm, “Sorry about your damn luck!”
