In case you missed WWE Superstars this week, here’s what went down:
Santino Marella comes to the ring and grabs the mic, “Jack Swagger, you jumped me from behind and intentionally tried to put me out of action… you took me out of the royal rumble… I’m going to teach you a lesson so good, you’re going to call me professore.”
Santino Marella vs. Jack Swagger
WINNER: Jack Swagger via pin fall after hitting the Gut Wrench Power Bomb
Zack Ryder with Rosa Mendes vs. Christian
WINNER: Christian via pin fall after hitting the Kill Switch
Main Event
Dolph Ziggler vs. JTG
WINNER: Dolph Ziggler via pin fall after hitting the Zig Zag
QUICK THOUGHTS:
Santino, albeit he’s not the best wrestler, the stuff that he does in the ring is always amusing to me. He just knows when to be completely over the top and when to be serious. I think they should go back to featuring him in the ring more often and not just in backstage segments.
The match up between Ryder and Christian was a great back and forth match. I actually thought that Ryder may pull out the victory, but the cagey veteran Christian got the best of this occasion.
What kind of main event was that…? Two guys who have NEVER been in a main event match let alone a really meaningful match on a PPV! Seriously, WWE should’ve put the ECW offering as the main event of the evening. I’ll give the Smackdown guys credit, they are solid and can get it done in the ring, but based on name alone and fan involvement/interaction, these two are not main event guys. Sorry!
