Howdy all. We saw a pretty okay Raw this past Monday with the major highlight being the reveal (Finally) of the new WWE Championship belt. It only took like a year to finally put it into the script, but whatever. I’ll like the belt a lot more once somebody else (Cena, in all likelihood) wins it and it doesn’t have Brahma Bulls on the outside. I’ve seen photos of the title without on wweshop.com and it looks much better. I think I’ll get used to it, though it’s not my favorite, but it’s much better than the previous title, spinning or not.
We did get a final look at the last WWE Championship belt to close Raw as CM Punk emerged and hit Cena with the title from behind, leaving Cena out cold and ending the show with a Punk-Rock (haha, Punk rock…sorry) stare down.
Now I don’t know about all of you, but with this match between Cena and Punk set up next week, it leads me to believe we won’t see The Undertaker this year. The match leads me to believe the match will end controversially and the Mania match ends up a triple threat for the WWE Championship. Probably not what Creative wants, and probably not Punk either…or me.
Speaking of this year’s ‘Mania main eventers, the winner of the Elimination Chamber, and now number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, is apparently celebrating the victory a little too hard. He was arrested leaving the Smackdown tapings Tuesday Night. TMZ reported Swagger was pulled over for speeding and was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana. Way to ruin that hard push, Jack! It’s hard telling what WWE plans to do about this situation but it certainly couldn’t have happened at a worse time. On the plus side, if WWE DOES plan on punishing Swagger immediately, they have 6 weeks to figure something out. I have no idea of the WWE’s policies so I won’t even give my opinion on what they could do with the situation at hand.
One final thought. The WWE’s main events are pretty set; Brock vs Hunter, Cena vs Rock 2 or Punk/Cena/Rock, or Punk/Taker, depending on Taker’s plans. The mid-card is way up in the air, though. I’m feeling a Bryan/Kane feud boiling. Also, there was a rumored Ryback/Jericho plan, but I’m not sure if that’s still a go or not. The question is still there on what to do with Ziggler, The Shield, Cesaro, etc. Mysterio vs Sin Cara was also rumored, but I’m unsure on the status there, too. But with only 6 weeks left until Mania, these questions will be answered very shortly. Thanks for reading. See you again soon!
