WWE has struggled in the ratings department in each of the past two weeks. In fact this past Monday’s edition of Monday Night Raw received the lowest rating for Raw since December of 2012. While WWE’s main competition, TNA, is not a major concern–there seems to be gaining interest in the lesser known form of professional wrestling.
The reason interest in TNA is gaining is because of the company’s ability to add former WWE Talent. Currently, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, and The Dudley Brothers are among the former WWE superstars that are on TNA’s roster.
That seems to be where TNA is attempting to gain the advantage over WWE. TNA is striving to add former talent that were fan favorites in WWE.
One of those talents is Dave Batista. Batista was last seen on WWE programming in May of 2010 as he quit the company after losing to John Cena at the Over The Limit pay-per view.
Since his departure from WWE, Batista has spent time as a MMA fighter and most recently, an actor.
However, rumors over the past month would seem to indicate that Batista is inching closer to returning to WWE. Recent speculation had Batista joining TNA.
That is a rumor that Batista has vehemently denied on twitter. Batista has stated on numerous occasions that bleeds WWE blood. Batista has also hinted recently that there is interest in returning to WWE but it would have to be under the right circumstances. This would seem to fall in line with an interview Batista had towards the end of 2012, when he suggested he could return to WWE by the end of the 2013 calendar year.
The return of Batista is something that many fans have been clamoring for and should provide a boost in the ratings for WWE.
