According to PWInsider, Ryback is getting a lot of backstage heat for an incident that occurred during the taping of this week’s Superstars, before this past Monday’s Raw.
Ryback participated in a match against Dolph Ziggler. During the match, Ryback delivered a stiff clothesline to Ziggler, and it has given “The Show-Off” a concussion. Reports say the concussion is not mild.
When he first arrived on the main roster as Ryback in the summer of 2012, he faced local jobbers, almost exclusively. At the time, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported the reason for this was that most Superstars were apprehensive about getting in the ring with Ryback, due to his unsafe style.
It may be time for WWE to finally cut their losses on Ryback. He’s unsafe in the ring, and he’s a big guy who can’t get over as a heel, even with the help of Paul Heyman. He was over with the “Feed Me More” chant, but that’s gone, and I don’t think it’s coming back. It’s not going to work with Ryback, and it’s time for WWE to move on.
As for Ziggler, not too long ago, he was World Heavyweight Champion. Right after he won that title, he suffered a concussion and lost the title in the next match he had after recovering. Now he’s taking losses on Superstars, it has been a quick fall from grace, and I don’t think that fall is close to ending. With this concussion, he could be perceived as injury-prone, and with Vince McMahon and Triple H, perception is just as good as reality.
