On Wednesday, the WWE announced that Kaitlyn would no longer be appearing for the company. Here is the WWE’s statement, via WWE.com:
As of Jan. 8, Kaitlyn (Celeste Bonin) will no longer be under contract with WWE. The former Divas Champion has chosen to pursue other endeavors outside the sports-entertainment world.
WWE wishes Kaitlyn the best in all her future endeavors.
F4WOnline.com is reporting that there were a lot of storylines for her to be involved in, that she wanted to be involved in, but nothing ever happened and she became sick of it.
Kaitlyn had not appeared on TV in a while, other than to appear in the multi-Diva tag team matches meant to spotlight the Total Divas.
Kaitlyn was part of the renewed push for the entire Divas division earlier this year. She won the title once, defeating Eve Torres in her hometown, Houston, Texas.
Kaitlyn participated in her last match at Tuesday’s Main Event taping, which aired tonight. She lost to her long-time friend, and former tag team partner, AJ Lee. The two hugged after the match in the ring.
Kaitlyn was one of the best Divas in the division, she may not have had the most talent, but WWE always looks for people who can play good characters, and Kaitlyn could do that. Other than her title feud with AJ this past summer, she was never in a storyline that meant much, which is a shame, because her and AJ really shined.
