News on Hulk Hogan Returning to WWE

PWInsider is reporting that a WWE deal for Hulk Hogan is in place and that an official signing is imminent. He will be appearing at WrestleMania XXX, though it is not known if he will be in a match.

The report says that last Monday and Tuesday, WWE had planned to reveal Hogan’s return at the WWE Network announcement, with plans getting so far that they began writing mentions to him into the teleprompter script. They eventually backed out because they feared he would overshadow the Network, which was the last thing WWE wanted.

Looking forward to what Hogan will do upon his return, we at Daily DDT have already thought of some potential ideas for WrestleMania XXX. As that article shows, Hogan is most likely going to be involved with John Cena in some capacity, and that’s a good thing. Cena always gets compared to the top guys of the past, but Cena doesn’t really compare to Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock as far as characters go, for obvious reasons. The similarities between Cena and Hogan, however, are hard to ignore. They both led WWE in kid-friendly eras, and they both play superhero-like characters.

As WWE heads into the biggest WrestleMania ever, two of the biggest stars ever should be paired together. Ideally, I would like to see Cena and Hogan go one-on-one, but that’s not likely. Hogan may not pass a physical at all, but if he does he would most likely be limited to a tag team match. That being said, I would love to see Cena and Hogan team up against Rowdy Roddy Piper and a current heel. I would like to see a younger guy, like Dean Ambrose, in the current heel role, but anybody would work considering the star power in this match.

There are many options for Hogan, but when you team Hulk Hogan and WrestleMania, it’s impossible to go wrong.
