The WWE Universe is still not sure if Sheamus will be making his return at Sunday night’s Royal Rumble, but we may now know what he is doing at WrestleMania XXX.

PWInsider is reporting that current plans have Sheamus taking on the hottest wrestler in the world right now, Daniel Bryan. These plans are very interesting, and they could be very telling of what’s to come for these Superstars.

With all that’s happened with Bryan in the past few months, it appears that all the speculation was right, and Sheamus will be returning as a heel. This is a huge rub for Sheamus, because he will get plenty of heat going against the WWE Universe’s darling.

A good heel run could do a lot for Sheamus. I have previously suggested that he get a match with Chris Jericho at WrestleMania XXX, as it would give him a chance to get a win in a good match, giving him his WrestleMania Moment. Of course, Sheamus could also have a great match with Bryan. If those two are given the time, they can really put on a show, as they did in their 2012 feud.

As for Bryan, he may be heading on a bit of a “revenge” tour. One of the biggest crimes of Bryan’s career is the 18 second loss at WrestleMania XXVIII. Bryan was a heel champion, and he fell to the face Sheamus’ Brogue Kick. This could be the beginning of something big for Bryan. He could beat Sheamus at WrestleMania, and move onto a summer-long feud with The Authority that could lead to him finally winning the title at SummerSlam, coming full circle from his win and quick loss at the same event last year.

I predict, with the roles reversed from WrestleMania XXVIII, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will explode with “YES!” chants when Sheamus taps out in the middle of the ring, and it will officially be the Year of the Goat.
