It’s been nearly a week since CM Punk reportedly walked out on Vince McMahon and the WWE for good. Rumors have been flying left and right about why Punk left and what the WWE’s plans are with him no longer in the company.
According to a report on PW Insider, Vince McMahon is taking Punk’s departure very personally. Triple H reportedly had been quite upset, but the Chairman is taking it more personally then Triple H or anyone within the creative team in the WWE.
Not only is McMahon upset, but top WWE officials are also said to be very upset that Punk’s departure was leaked.
The WWE has spent much of the past week in emergency meetings trying to figure out how to handle the departure. The creative team is also having to figure out how to handle all of the backlash and criticism from not including Daniel Bryan in the Royal Rumble match last month. WWE wants to have storylines prepared for both CM Punk being gone for good, and if he should return by some surprise.
For now, original WrestleMania plans have all been scrapped with the exception of John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt. As the WWE takes on CM Punk’s departure and Daniel Bryan backlash, plans will become clearer in the coming weeks.
