Elimination Chamber: Kickoff Show Match: Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs. Rybaxel Review

Cody and Goldust vs. Rybaxel

In the Elimination Chamber Kickoff Show match, Cody Rhodes and Goldust defeated Rybaxel.

With Curtis Axel’s grandfather, Larry “The Ax” Hennig in tow, Rybaxel couldn’t overcome the Rhodes boys in a battle for absolutely nothing.

This match really had nothing going for it. It was so hard to get into this match. Cody helped by hitting some of his big moves, including the moonsault off the top rope, it just didn’t work.

Now that the WWE is moving into a different era of pay-per-views, they have to work on getting better matches on the Kickoff Show. These matches constantly fall flat, every single month, and it would be so easy for them to fix if they just invested a little time. If they did a better job, they would be able to get people watching pay-per-views from the beginning.

For people not watching the on the Network, it helps them get impulse buys. For people watching the Network, it can help get eyes on the show earlier and help them hype some of their shows people might be missing.

Still to come at Elimination Chamber:

  • WWE Tag Team Championship
The New Age Outlaws vs. The Usos
  • WWE Intercontinental Championship
    Big E vs. Jack Swagger
  • Darren Young vs. Titus O’Neil
  • Batista vs. Alberto Del Rio
  • The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family
