John Cena Has No Legitimate Knee Injury (Update)

Original: Well it was not an angle, but rather a legit injury suffered on Raw tonight. John Cena was attacked by The Wyatt Family and suffered a legitimate knee injury.

Rowan grabbed Cena’s leg and held it in one position as the weight of his body went the other way as the others attacked him. Cena was able to gut the segment out and WWE’s medical staff came down during the break.

There is talk that he may have dislocated or hyper-extended his knee. The knee swelled up backstage. This is a developing story and we will have more on this story as we get new information.

UPDATE: Cena “recommended to take an MRI” but “is refusing any sort of treatment”

Update 2x: WWE doctors felt some instability and swelling in John Cena’s knee after first examining him following the angle with The Wyatt Family on RAW tonight. Trainers recommended Cena get an MRI but WWE’s website noted that he was refusing further treatment. Michael Cole noted on commentary that Cena was taken to a local medical facility.

Update 3x: PWTorch has confirmed through multiple sources that John Cena’s knee injury at last night’s RAW from Green Bay was a work and not a legitimate injury.

Give John Cena props on the selling side of the storyline. He had me and the way they are doing this angle is well done on the half of all parties involved. It should be interesting to see where this angle goes from here.

- WWE taped the following matches before Raw in Green Bay to air on this week’s Superstars:

* Damien Sandow vs. Kofi Kingston

* Los Matadores, Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs. Ryback, Curtis Axel, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre

- WWE held the first-ever RAW Pre-Show tonight on the WWE Network before RAW went on the air. The panel was made up of Ric Flair, Booker T, Alex Riley and Josh Mathews.
