-WWE is strongly considering the possibility of adding a third person to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship main event at WrestleMania XXX between Randy Orton and Batista. The latest internal lineup in the company reads, “Batista vs. Orton vs. an unknown superstar”
Other WrestleMania XXX matches that have been discussed internally, but not yet decided on, include Big E. vs. Dean Ambrose in a match to unify the WWE United States and WWE Intercontinental Championships, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan vs. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, Sheamus vs. Christian, Goldust vs. Cody Rhodes and a match pitting two NXT wrestlers against each other in a match on the main card.
-Fortune has a new article up looking at the WWE Network. The article notes that WWE spent $75 million over the past two years to get the Network going.
While WWE estimates that the Network will eventually reach two to four million subscribers, Robert Routh, director of equity research for National Alliance Capital Markets, believes that the estimates are actually low.
“I think the company is smartly being conservative. It has large global fan base, and it’s continuing to grow. In the long term I think the network could attract millions more, perhaps up to 6 to 8 million subscribers,” said Routh.
- WWE Superstar Tensai, real name Matt Bloom, worked tonight’s NXT TV tapings on commentary as he often does. However, Friday he was reportedly introduced as Jason Alberts. It looks like the Tensai days are over and commentary life begins for the big man. He is good and at least they are giving him something to do instead of sitting around in the back.
