Kurt Angle Officially Out Of Scheduled Match At Lockdown PPV

Kurt Angle is off of this Sunday nights TNA lockdown PPV card. He has been working through a knee injury and adding to the storyline, TNA made the decision to do a injury angle last night on Impact! and he is out of the scheduled match between he and EC3. TNA’s official website site issued this about the injury:

“TNA Wrestling officials have been informed that Kurt Angle has a torn MCL in his knee as a result of the attack by Ethan Carter on Thursday on IMPACT. Angle is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair his MCL today (Friday). As a result of this unfortunate injury, Kurt Angle will be unable to compete at Sunday’s Lockdown Pay-Per-View event against EC3. Stay tuned to ImpactWrestling.com for more updates on Kurt Angle.”

They then updated their story with this:

“On Thursday’s IMPACT, just days before their Steel Cage match at Lockdown, a confrontation between Ethan Carter III and Kurt Angle turned physical and has possibly put Sunday’s match in jeopardy. During the attack, EC3 viciously targeted and further injured Angle’s knee – even claiming he “Heard it Pop” during the fight. Kurt was immediately taken from IMPACT to a local hospital, where tests were ongoing. TNA medical staff that initially examined Angle backstage fear he may have tore his MCL, ACL or a combination of both ligaments. ImpactWrestling.com will have an update on Kurt’s condition as soon as it is made available on Friday morning”

Andrews Take: I was suspicion on if Angle could actually go on Sunday and now it is a no go. Its smart not to have this match happen with Angle in such bad shape. Also i like big high spots in matches, but i can say that i am happy i will not have to see Angle do a moonsult of the top of the cage. It’s unnecessary for him to do that at this stage in his game.
