NXT has a “Vengeance” theme this week. Themed shows like this every couple of weeks could give NXT a pay-per-view like feel, much like what TNA has done for the past year. I like it, as long as it’s not overdone.
Mojo Rawley vs. CJ Parker
Mojo wins with the Hyper Drive. Glad these two got more time in this match than they did at NXT ArRival. I don’t see either one of these guys as future stars, but they can play their characters well, and they can go in the ring. They both fit well as really good lower-midcard to midcard acts.
Xavier Woods vs. Tyler Breeze
Breeze wins a weird match dominated by Woods by hitting the Beauty Shot. With how well he plays his character, it is easy to forget how good Breeze is in the ring, he’s so athletic.
Bo Dallas w/ Devin Taylor
Bo continues to belittle Adrian Neville’s title win since Neville didn’t pin Bo, he just climbed a ladder. Bo vows to win the title back, “You can Bo-lieve that.” Gold.
Corey Graves vs. Yoshi Tatsu/Corey Graves promo
Graves wins with the Lucky 13. After the match, Graves grabs the mic and tells Sami Zayn to “stay down.” Poor Tatsu, it’s one thing to be a pawn in other guys’ feuds when you’re on the main roster, but it can’t be fun to do it down in NXT.
Natalya vs. Charlotte
Natalya wins by DQ when Sasha Banks comes in and attacks her to save Charlotte from the Sharpshooter. Natalya got her revenge though, putting Banks in the Sharpshooter. Charlotte did a really good job in this match. She has suffered from injuries in the past, but she looked like she belonged in this match with Natalya, who is one of the best in-ring Divas in WWE.
Adrian Neville backstage
Neville admits that the dynamic of this match will be different from the last one as there will be no ladders. However, Neville feels he has momentum and will have what it takes to retain.
Adrian Neville vs. Bo Dallas for the NXT Championship
Neville retains with a move I can’t quite describe. He stood on the top rope as if he were going for a moonsault, then did a 450-splash like rotation. My words can’t do it justice, it was an “are you kidding me?” moment, go look it up. On top of that move, it was a really good match that outshined their match at ArRival. A lot of talk surrounds Sami Zayn, and rightfully so, he is the most main roster ready guy they have, but Neville and Dallas are right behind him. Excellent match.
This was a good show with an great main event. NXT seems to get more impressive every week.
