Alexander Rusev made his debut on Raw the night after WrestleMania XXX. Ever since then, he’s defeated the likes of Zack Ryder, Xavier Woods and R-Truth in singles competition. Now, Woods and Truth are teaming up to try and challenge Rusev. Both men have been in singles matches with Rusev in the past two weeks, but every time, the other has gotten involved in those matches to save his partner from being locked in The Accolade.
Stephen’s Take: Rusev Crush. Rusev Crush. I don’t see any reason why Rusev won’t dominate this match, it’s kind of sad that this match is on the card, and there’s no tag team title match to speak of. But Rusev wins this easily, and the bigger picture is where does he go next? Maybe Mark Henry or Big Show steps up to the plate, so we can have some legit competition for him.
Stephen’s Prediction: Alexander Rusev
Mike’s Take: As I said in my Raw Review this week, R-Truth and Xavier Woods should have never gotten Rusev off his feet. He may not be a 7-foot giant, but he’s being billed as a “super athlete,” and for that he should have been protected. In this match, there’s a way for Truth and Woods to look like they’re doing damage to him, without taking him off his feet, and I hope they go that route. I’m not the biggest fan of Rusev, but if they want him to make it, they need to protect him a bit in these squash matches.
