TNA Will Officially Bring Back The Six Sided Ring - Details

As noted, TNA is holding a poll on ImpactWrestling.com asking whether they should use the four-sided or six-sided ring, moving forward, staring with their New York City Impact Wrestling tapings thist week.

Here is what Impact Wrestling.com had to say:

We can now exclusively report that the TNA Board of Directors requested this information during a series of closed door meetings regarding the future of TNA Wrestling. Fans voted overwhelmingly for one of the options and this was presented to the Board during another private meeting today.

Giving the fans a major voice in the decision, the TNA Board of Directors has just revealed to IMPACTWrestling.com their decision to reintroduce the 6-sided ring! Effective immediately, the new 6-sided ring is set to debut at the upcoming IMPACT television taping on June 25th at New York City’s famed Manhattan Center.

This is a decision that the TNA die hards will love and the newer fans will hate. Either way, I like the move.

Yes, it’s different, but that is what TNA needs the most right now. It may not change all their problems, but that big deal is that it takes them away from WWE and is a desperate move by the company.

The poll specifically notes that this will not be a one-off and that it will decide “future of IMPACT Wrestling’s ring.”

I liked the six sided ring back in its heyday; it gave them a unique look, they were able to come up with some different types of camera angles, and the wrestlers were able to think up some new variations on different moves with it. But if it really was a shard on their bodies as reported, I prefer they stick with the regular four side ring and just break the six sided one out for an occasional gimmick match or anniversary show. Besides, I think they have bigger things to worry about.
