If plan A does not succeed, revert to plan B; If Plan B falters, then fall back on Plan C.
That was the concept that Paul Heyman pitched Triple H and Stephanie McMahon this past Monday at Monday Night Raw.
The Authority is determined to place the WWE World Heavyweight title on one of their hand-picked selections. Randy Orton is plan A as Orton is placed in the Fatal 4-Way match this Sunday at Battleground, and Seth Rollins with his Money in the Bank briefcase is plan B.
But if Orton and Rollins falter, then Heyman has plan C ready for The Authority’s use.
Heyman is one of the best characters in the WWE. Typically, Heyman can make any superstar a household name unless of course your name is Curtis Axle or Ryback.
But between the likes of Rob Van Dam, Antonio Cesaro, and yes, CM Punk; Heyman is perhaps the best talent adviser that WWE has had since Jim Ross.
That would be why the idea of Heyman having a plan C is so intriguing.
