The waiting has ended.
For the first time in his career, WCW legend and now former TNA wrestler Sting, has made his first public appearance as a talent for WWE as he appeared as a surprise panel member at the famous San Diego Comic-Con.
It was stated in the video below by the Voice of WWE Michael Cole “Making his first public appearance at a WWE event of any kind…STING.”
WWE fans were given hopes of a Sting appearance over the course of the last several weeks with the debut of Sting as a playable character in the upcoming release of WWE 2K15. Not to mention the tweets of Triple H, and Vince McMahon that teased a potential appearance from Sting down the road. The question had changed from “If” to “When” Sting would appear for WWE.
Thursday we got our answer. As the WWE unveiled new action figures from partner Mattel; Sting’s figure was shown to the crowd, accompanied by his music; then perhaps the most anticipated appearance in WWE history occurred. Sting, clad in his brand-new WWE T-Shirt, shocked the crowd and was given a standing ovation from Daniel Bryan, Paul Heyman, and Hulk Hogan.
As Hulk Hogan said to Sting, and he spoke for pro wrestling fans around the world, “It’s about time.”
The only question that still remains unanswered is,”Will Sting wrestle a match for WWE?
With Daniel Bryan sitting two seats to the Icon’s right, WWE fans can only hope the answer is a resounding, “YES! YES! YES!”
