The WWE Morning Paper: Jim Ross, Unification, TNA

So you’re getting ready for school or work in the morning and want to read up on fresh content before leaving for the day? Come read The WWE Morning Paper! This will be your weekday hub for the latest news inside and outside the squared circle for Vince McMahon’s company as well as TNA sprinkled in.

Here’s the wrestling rumors and news you need to know for July 24th, 2014.

Unfortunately, hall of fame WWE announcer Jim Ross reported on his Twitter account that his career with the company has officially come to an end. It has been said that WWE executives felt that this incident involving him and Ric Flair at least year’s WWE 2K14 roster announcement show was the “final straw.”

According to the website Wrestling Rumors, it appears that Prince Devitt, formerly of New Japan Pro Wrestling, has signed a deal with the WWE.

Devitt is an Irish superstar that recently competed for New Japan Pro Wrestling. He has been the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, NWA World Historic Middleweight Champion, NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, and two-time winner of the “Best of the Super Juniors” tournament.

24 Wrestling hears that the tag team of Curtis Axel and Ryback may be getting split up soon.

TNA’s “Bound For Glory” will not be returning this year, as confirmed by company star Robbie E.

As previously reported, The Manhattan Center in New York City recently raised prices and the future of both TNA and Ring Of Honor hosting events in the building is unknown.

Talk of unifying the Intercontinental and U.S title at SummerSlam is picking up steam, although not confirmed.

It’s certainly not set in stone, but it appears as though The Miz vs. Sheamus in an Intercontinental/U.S. title unification match could happen at SummerSlam. WWE will apparently be debuting its new logo on all its belts, so the designs will be updated and it’s possible right now that one of those belts is done away with.
