WWE SummerSlam: Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon is Officially on for SummerSlam

The Divas division rivalries have been mostly flat for who knows how long now. The main rivalry has been over the Divas Championship and it never gets a ton of time on TV.

That has changed.

There has been an on-going rivalry between Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon ever since she “quit” the company at the Payback PPV in June. After Bella left, McMahon began targeting her sister Nikka in numerous handicap matches that would sometimes pit up to four Divas against her. She would come up short every time.

Then on the July 21st edition of Raw, Brie would show up in the crowd with a ticket in hand.

Which would lead to McMahon getting arrested.

Fast forward to last night. Stephanie McMahon invited Brie to come to Raw so she could convince her to drop all charges. It’s safe to say that things did not go as planned for one of WWE’s principle owners.

They would exchange proposals on how they could settle this incident without going to court. It went from Nikki getting a raise to Brie demanding a match at SummerSlam, which at first, McMahon hesitated, but reluctantly accepted. Brie would end up getting slapped and the brawl was on.

I can’t remember the last time a Divas division rivalry was this interesting. I probably couldn’t name any that were better over the past year or so.

The last time we saw McMahon wrestle a match was at No Mercy 2003, where she lost an “I Quit” match to her father, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. She lost the match where the loser would have to leave their position in the company. She would not be seen on TV for over two years.

Here we are though. 11 years later at age 37, Stephanie McMahon will be getting back into the ring to compete in a match where again, it involves someone trying to save their job, which Brie is fighting for at WWE SummerSlam. I am definitely looking forward to this match. It should be a lot of fun.

What do you guys think of this match that will be going down at SummerSlam?
