The WWE Morning Paper: Dean Ambrose, Ricardo Rodriguez, The Miz

So you’re getting ready for school or work in the morning and want to read up on fresh content before leaving for the day? Come read The WWE Morning Paper! This will be your weekday (possibly future weekends as well) hub for the latest news inside and outside the squared circle for Vince McMahon’s company as well as TNA sprinkled in (unless they get cancelled).

Here’s the wrestling information you need to know for July 31st, 2014 version of The WWE Morning Paper.

WWE began laying off employees yesterday. Former manager Ricardo Rodriguez is on that list.

“WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Ricardo Rodriguez as of today, July 30, 2014,” the official statement read. “WWE wishes Ricardo Rodriguez the best in all of his future endeavors.”

Cageside Seats found out the reason why WWE left Dean Ambrose off of Raw. I don’t understand it either.

Dean Ambrose actually was at Monday Night Raw this week and the reason he wasn’t used was for “creative purposes”, whatever the hell that means. So there you go. He does cut a promo on his making “promotional appearances” on SmackDown this week, so they’re using his absence.

After a strong rating for Raw last Monday, this past Monday saw a dip in the final hour.

Sheamus missed Raw again. This time he was in Ireland.

Here’s some NXT news, courtesy of Bleacher Report.

The competition at NXT is about to get mighty tough. After months of rumors, New Japan Pro Wrestling star Prince Devitt (real name: Fergal Devitt) is officially coming to WWE developmental.

Rodriguez appears to be part of the 10% of employees that will be let go.

Aaron Bower tells us why The Miz’s Hollywod is already failing.

Never shy about changing wrestlers’ gimmicks and personas, WWE has once again turned one of its former main event stars into a questionable midcard character with an outrageous persona.
