WWE Quick Hits: More CM Punk Controversy, Brock Lesnar's Schedule

The news for today in the wrestling business has been pretty light, but there are a few interesting things to point out.

It appears that the never ending CM Punk-WWE drama has another chapter being developed.

CM Punk‘s lawyers recently sent a 22-page letter to WWE over royalties and their use of his likeness, mainly him being featured in the WWE 2K15 video game.

This isn’t confirmed but WWE may have stopped sending Punk royalty checks over their claim that he breached his contract. Regarding the video game, the roster was put together before Punk quit the company.

Punk is involved in the Showcase Mode where 2K is displaying past WWE rivalries. One of the featured ones is the Punk-John Cena rivalry in 2011.

For those who don’t know, CM Punk left the company abruptly one night after Royal Rumble. He has not been seen on wrestling programming since then. This breach of contract issue with royalty checks should be another fun chapter of this saga that’s on pace to last well over a year.

Vince Russo laid out an open letter to Vince McMahon, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon regarding the company product on his website. Check out the full letter here.

Russo was a guest host on Wrestle Reaction on Monday night and shredded the 9/1 RAW to pieces. He spoke on the Bellas storyline, Vince and Triple H, John Cena, and plenty of other key wrestling topics.

Then there’s Brock Lesnar’s schedule as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. A very interesting update on his dates came out today that could make his supports happy if he keeps the title through Night of Champions.

Regarding Brock Lesnar’s deal with WWE, they’re able to book him as WWE World Heavyweight Champion for RAW and pay-per-view events based on when they feel they want him on TV. In the past Lesnar’s dates and angles have been planned out months in advance. There is an agreement in place where WWE can increase Lesnar’s dates on a pro-rate basis.

This gives WWE plenty of flexibility on when they can bring Lesnar in and it’s good to know that he would agree to something like this. This could easily signal that he will be sticking around for awhile. You never know, though.

Stay with us for all of our content as we approach Night of Champions!
