Tonight will feature a brand new edition of WWE NXT, the first show since last Thursday’s NXT Takeover 2.
This will be a big night for the developmental brand with recent signing Hideo Itami making his in-ring debut. All eyes will be on him and how he performs against his opponent tonight.
We should also see some fallout from the NXT Championship match that took place as three of the four Superstars from the fatal 4-way match will be in action.
Here are the matches to look forward to tonight, via Wrestling Inc.
- Emma vs. Charlotte in a non-title match
- Justin Gabriel vs. Hideo Itami
- CJ Parker vs. Baron Corbin
- Tyson Kidd and Titus O’Neil vs. Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville
Charlotte defeated Bayley last week at NXT Takeover 2 to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. They put on a very good match and showed what can happen when WWE gives time to two talented women. Following the live event, all signs seemed to point to Bayley getting a rematch for the belt. That, and Sasha Banks wanting her opportunity will likely be addressed tonight.
Emma is a talented wrestler, but we haven’t seen her do much since going to the WWE main roster. Charlotte will likely win tonight, but giving the Australian some time in the ring is beneficial.
Speaking of talented wrestlers, Hideo Itami will be in action for the first time. His match with Justin Gabriel should be a lot of fun. The South African’s athleticism mixed in with Itami’s world class ability should be a lot of fun to watch. It will be interesting to see what moves he has placed in his arsenal following his transition to the United States.
Baron Corbin vs. CJ Parker seems destined to be the squash match of the night. Corbin crushed him in his “official debut” last Thursday and showed off his devastating finishing maneuver. They’ll probably take a few shows to build up the former NFL offensive lineman before throwing him into a legitimate feud.
The main event of the night is very intriguing. Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville’s animosity towards each other will be tested by this match after the Neville screwed the former Ring of Honor wrestler out of the NXT Championship last week. It seemed like it leaned towards the British Superstar turning heel, but in the fallout show, he was performing like a face and said that he would do anything to retain the title.
Tyson Kidd will have the opportunity to get some revenge on Neville after he pinned him with the Red Arrow last week. His direction following the match will hopefully be addressed tonight. The same goes for Tyler Breeze, who is not listed on the match card.
This should be a fun episode of WWE NXT. Will you be watching tonight?
