The question that has been surrounding Bray Wyatt after the conclusion of his feud with Chris Jericho is what direction will the Leader of the Masses head in next.

Two weeks after the Night of Champions’ pay-per view, there still is no concrete information on the direction that WWE is taking Wyatt.

In fact, Wyatt has not been seen live on WWE programming since the Smackdown before the Night of Champions’ pay-per view. Though, Wyatt along with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan attacked Dean Ambrose as part of the dark segment after this week’s Smackdown taping.

  • But while Wyatt has not been seen live on WWE programming, he did have a pair of vignettes that aired during this past week’s Monday Night Raw. In the video, Wyatt teased that Harper was breaking off from the Wyatt Family and beginning a single’s run. With Harper presumably starting a career as a solo competitor, that has led to speculation suggesting that both Wyatt and Rowan will also follow suit. Though, there has yet to be any official confirmation of The Wyatt Family going their separate ways.

There is, however, confirmation that WWE is at a loss with Wyatt.

When Wyatt did not work Night of Champions and the following Raw, the belief was that WWE was giving Wyatt some time off after feuding with the likes of Jericho, John Cena, and The Shield over the course of the past year. But with news this week that WWE has yet to determine a direction for Wyatt, that confirms that Wyatt is being lost in the shuffle.

There is no doubt that Wyatt has a future in the WWE. For those that don’t believe that, enter “Bray Wyatt” in the Google search engine and among the first things that surfaces is “Bray Wyatt quotes”. Wyatt’s quotes have reached a Rust Cohle–“True Detective” reference–type following. Wyatt is appointment television with a microphone in his hand, and his in-ring performance fits his character perfectly.

The most recent debate over Wyatt has been whether or not WWE should turn his character into a babyface. With The Wyatt Family believed to be on the verge of a breakup, that has increased speculation that Wyatt will turn face. Many fans feel such a turn would ruin Wyatt’s character. In fact, Wyatt could thrive as a babyface.

Think about pop culture for a moment. Over the course of the past year, we have mourned the ability to watch two popular television characters. Dexter Morgan and Walter White. For those watching those respective shows, without spoiling anything, it goes without saying that Morgan and White were Anti-Heroes in their respective television shows. Despite all the bad things that Morgan and White did in their respective shows, we loved them.

Wyatt could follow a similar path. Wyatt could still spew his normal rhetoric, though, the only difference is he would be targeting heel characters such as The Authority.

Wyatt’s future in WWE may be as the company’s top Anti-Hero.
