WrestleMania 31: How Chris Jericho Would Book The Show of Shows

At some point over the past few months, we have all fantasy booked the card for WrestleMania 31. That includes Chris Jericho.

In a recent interview with Bill Apter, recorded the morning of WWE Royal Rumble, Jericho had some things to say about the Royal Rumble Match.

Jericho said if he was a “betting man” he would pick Daniel Bryan, but, as for who he wanted to win, he had this to say:

"We know Daniel Bryan is a guy that’s super popular, but we also know what Vince McMahon thinks. Daniel is not a Vince McMahon-prototype wrestler where as Roman Reigns is. I’d like to see Roman win, I’d like to see him win the title at WrestleMania and see what do we really have with this guy. And if that’s the case, then turn Daniel Bryan heel and put those two together, let them feud over the title back and forth."

It’s an interesting idea from Jericho. Though the Bryan-Reigns match at WWE Fastlane kind of takes some interest out of a post-WrestleMania feud between the two, turning Bryan heel could make it feel completely new.

Jericho wasn’t done, though. He went on to reveal the top five matches that he would book for this year’s edition of The Show of Shows.

Jericho predicted that the Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Royal Rumble would see John Cena pin Seth Rollins, only for Brock Lesnar to attack Cena, allowing a recovered Rollins to cash-in on Cena and walk out as the new champion. That would make the main event of WrestleMania: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The other four matches were: Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan, Triple H vs. Sting, The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt, and John Cena vs. Rusev.

Jericho only picked one winner, that being Reigns, but after some input from Apter, he seemed to imply that he would put Cena over Rusev.

That’s not exactly how I’d book it, but it sounds pretty good to me. Rollins and Reigns would be elevated as main eventers. If Lesnar leaves, then Bryan would get to be the man to finally put him down. If nothing else, Triple H and Sting would put on a spectacle. Wyatt might join Lesnar as the only men to beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania. And, Rusev would be elevated by getting to work with Cena at WrestleMania.

That’s how you build a strong roster.
