Earlier this year Angle claimed that WWE had tried to sign him to a contract, but he turned them down because they wanted him to work a full-time schedule. Angle instead signed a new one year contract with TNA, a deal that runs out in January. A short while ago it was reported that Angle had announced his retirement, but only from TNA, Royal Rumble time would be the perfect time for Angle to return to his old stomping ground.

Angle is another man who is a former World Heavyweight Champion, a former massive star in the WWE and another man who could offer a spike to the ratings with his return. Angle was one of the stars of the Attitude Era, he could do everything, was excellent in the ring, fantastic on the microphone and was one of the most entertaining men in wrestling during his time in WWE.

There’s a plethora of men who could benefit from a series of matches with the 1996 Olympic Gold medalist. His style may need to be slightly changed to fit with is ageing body but he could still offer a lot to the company. He’s another man who could instantly add star power to the top of the card and each a thing or two to the likes of Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens could all tear it up with Kurt Angle in the ring, the possibilities are endless.
