Kurt Angle Should Become WWE Raw’s Next General Manager

With it beginning to look like Mick Foley’s time as RAW General Manager is coming to an end, WWE should select The Olympic Gold Medalist, Kurt Angle to replace him.

After being gone for over 10 years, Kurt Angle will finally return to the WWE when he is inducted into the Hall of Fame, the night before WrestleMania 33. With his return on the horizon, and it looking like Angle wants to become a regular member of WWE programming again, the best move would be moving him to RAW as the General Manager.

The current General Manager of the flagship show is fellow Hall of Famer and Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley. The Hardcore Legend’s time on RAW though seems like it might be coming to an end very soon.

Over the last few weeks, we have seen the dynamic of Foley and RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon begin to take a sour note. McMahon has blamed RAW’s shortcomings recently on Foley and has seemed rather annoyed at his actions as of late.

We have also seen Stephanie’s husband, Triple H begin to make appearances on the show, causing some annoyance on Foley’s side. Stephanie’s anger and frustration nearly came out last week on RAW when Foley seems happy that the brand had signed NXT star Samoa Joe to the roster.

McMahon then insisted on giving Mick the week off this past Monday, as Stephanie McMahon ran the Flagship show on her own. With Stephanie becoming more and more angry at Foley it seems almost guaranteed that Foley will be on the chopping block soon.

Foley has stated on his social media accounts as well that he is not locked into a long-term contract agreement, rather he is on a week to week basis with the company. Mick has also stated that he needs hip surgery which would cause him to be sidelined for months to recover.

All of these factors show that Mick Foley will indeed be out the door soon. With RAW needing a new GM, they should look no further than at Kurt Angle. With RAW being the flagship program they are going to want a huge name to run the show, no one fits that better than Angle.

Angle is one of the most entertaining wrestlers of all time whether he was being comedic or serious, The Olympic Gold Medalist knows how to entertain the fans. Kurt also has experience as being a GM as well.

Back in 2004, while dealing with an injury rather than write him off Television, WWE appointed him as the General Manager of Smackdown. In a villainous role, Angle used his power to cause trouble for fan favorites Eddie Guerrero and John Cena.

With already having past experience on running a show, Angle could fit in perfectly as the GM of RAW.  Another thing to consider is the dynamic that Angle has with the Commissioner Stephanie McMahon.

Angle, McMahon and Triple H were involved in a love triangle, during 2000 which took place over the most of that year. The feud caused many heated battles between Angle and Triple H. Angle and Stephanie could instantly pick up their past chemistry and with Triple H still around it could create some interesting television.

Angle and McMahon could form an alliance and create trouble for fan favorites on the brand, something McMahon has not been able to completely do thanks to Foley. With so much potential and so many paths they could go down, WWE should make Kurt Angle the next General Manager of the RAW brand.
