TNA Impact is back, and in last night’s episode, we got an answer as to why TNA President Dixie Carter brought back the ECW originals into TNA, and that she’s got a big announcement to make when it comes to them. What was it? Read on to find out:

Video Package: Abyss believes that nobody understands him except for THEM who are leading him. Clips are shown of ECW originals jumping rail and the melee that broke out with Dixie Carter diffusing the fight by saying that she invited them.

Global Title Match
AJ Styles with Kazarian vs. Rob Terry (Champion)
WINNER: Styles via pin fall after countering a suplex and Kaz holding Terry’s foot without the ref noticing

Taz & Mike Tenay talk a little bit about Mick Foley’s return last week and the ECW originals jumping the rail.

Backstage: Sarita & Madison Rayne talking in the locker room about what Saritia did to Taylor Wilde last week in their street fight. Madison rants a bit about Velvet Sky, who walks into the room behind her with Lacey Von Erich. They jaw back and forth and Lacey tries to be the peacemaker, but it just pisses Velvet off.

Backstage: Dixie Carter reading the riot act to all of the road agents that got involved in the melee last week with the ECW originals.

Angelina Love & Taylor Wilde vs. Madison Rayne & Sarita
WINNERS: Love/Wilde via pin fall after Love hit Rayne with a Face Buster

Before match, referee Earl Hebner had Love relinquish the Knockout’s Title because the TNA Board of Directors have reviewed the video tape from the last PPV and found the masked biker chick, not to be one of The Beautiful People and per stipulations of the match, Madison shouldn’t have been DQ’d or lose the title.

Post match, biker chick to ring. It’s not Sarita, Velvet Sky, or Lacey Von Erich (they come to the ramp). Beat down in the ring of Love/Wilde (three-on-two). When they leave the ring, Madison calls for Lacey to come with her. Lacey is conflicted, but leaves Velvet on the ramp.

Video Package: Earlier today, ECW originals arrive at the Impact Zone.

Kurt Angle vs. Hernandez
WINNER: Angle via submission after slapping on the Ankle Lock

Post match, Kevin Nash to the ring. He and Angle shake hands on his way in. He calls out Jeff Jarrett.

After commercial, Jarrett to the ring. Nash says that he thought about last week and tells Jarrett that he’s good at what he does. He says that Jeff almost convinced him about Sting, and then adds that there are young guys in the back who looks up to him.

Jarrett has no idea what he’s talking about. He says Nash has deceived people to get his friends into TNA.

Nash asks Jarrett about his daughters, and hopes that when they grow up, they’ll know how big of a prick their dad was.

Backstage: Dixie Carter pacing around. She greets Kurt Angle as he comes back from his match. He asks her about her announcement, and she asks him to just trust her. He says okay.

Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Hardy
WINNER: Time Limit Draw (10-min)

Mid match, Eric Bischoff talks to Taz & Tenay on the phone. He says that he and Hulk Hogan don’t really know what Dixie’s announcement is, but they’re behind her 100%.

Post match, fans upset with the draw and begin chanting, “Let them fight!” Refs called to keep the two men at bay.

Backstage: Jeff Jarrett & Dixie Carter talking over things when it comes to her announcement. She also asks him to trust her. He says okay, anything to help.

Matt Morgan vs. Mr. Anderson
WINNER: Anderson via pin fall after hitting the Mic Check

Post match, Morgan attacks Anderson, and busts him open.

Video Package: A look at TNA Live Events

Best of Five Series – Street Fight (2 of 5)
Motor City Machine Guns (Champions) vs. Beer Money Inc.
WINNERS: Beer Money via pin fall after Storm used the beer bottle and Last Call Superkick

Mid match, two refs taken out, and the Guns had the match won (again) after hitting a Sliced Bread/Power Bomb combo, but no ref to make count.

Beer Money get to pick the stipulation for match three.

Backstage: Brother Devon heads into Brother Ray’s locker room. Devon tells him that he’s got the ECW guys back because they’re like family. He asks Ray if he’s got their back.

Ray asks “Why should he? We’ve done way more than they’ve ever have!” Walks out.

Video Package: 10/10/10/ – Bound For Glory PPV happens.

Backstage: Christy Hemme is with Rob Van Dam. She asks about being in the ring again with his former ECW friends. RVD says it’s like being back at home again. She asks also about Dixie Carter’s announcement later. He says that he’s got an idea about what it might be, but he knows he has to keep his eyes firmly focused on Abyss.

Taz & Mike Tenay argue about Dixie Carter making her announcement tonight. Tenay says that they all deserve an explanation. Taz says that she’s the president of the company, and doesn’t have to answer to anyone.

Video Package: Past month of footage with ECW originals leading up to Dixie’s announcement tonight.

Dixie Carter to the ring. She wants TNA to be a company about the fans, and loves the fact that she can get feedback from them through Facebook & Twitter. She says that fans are always bringing up extreme/hardcore wrestling. She introduces the ECW originals (Tommy Dreamer, Mick Foley, Rhino, Raven & Stevie Richards). She wants them to talk to fans about what they’ve meant to them.

Dixie then adds that it’s not about fat paychecks. It’s about loving this business because of your love for your brothers in the ring, and your love of the fans… Thanks them for setting the bar high.

Mick Foley says, “We should be thanking you (Dixie)… for a second chance at our last chance…”

Dreamer is handed the mic. “I’ve watched TNA since the beginning at the Asylum… Friends here have told me to quit my job and join TNA. I saw similarity between ECW and TNA…” He then compares Samoa Joe to Taz, Jay Lethal/Ric Flair’s rivalry to Terry Funk/Mick Foley, and the strong women of ECW to the Knockouts. “When you invited me to Slammiversary, I saw men and women doing this for passion and every one of you (fans).” He criticizes the rebirth of ECW saying “It hurt me so much that I HAD to quit my job… I sat in this crowd and saw all the similarities, and there’s only one person that could help put this plan that we have together, and that’s you (Dixie)… This is about the men & women who lost their jobs. This is for the fans that chanted. This is for my friends who lived it, and so that our legacy is NOT destroyed. I beg of you, for one night, give us the chance to let our legacy live forever.

Dixie asks the crowd for their approval (CHEERS)… She gives them complete control to have one night to do things the right way.

Dreamer proclaims, “Impact Zone, we’re going extreme!!!”

QUICK THOUGHTS:

Again, match of the night honors have to go to Beer Money vs. Motor City Machine Guns. They had another PPV quality match on their weekly program. Kudos to those guys for busting their asses again and again.

I read a little bit online about the possible ECW show storyline (I normally don’t read spoilers), and I’m really excited to see how this is going to come to be. I’ve seen some of the proposed names for the card, and there’s some great ECW names that are going to be coming back for one night only.

Fortune already has their first champion in AJ Styles, and they got it the same way that Ric Flair would’ve done it in his prime, through dirty tactics… Following in his footsteps already!

After the events of the Victory Road PPV, TNA Impact is back on the air and we will find out what the NEW Top 10 Rankings are. Who do you think is going to be the new #1 contender? Your answer is below:

Video Package: Highlights from Victory Road PPV.

Video Package: Updated Top 10 Rankings to compete for Rob Van Dam’s World Title

Abyss

Jeff Hardy

Mr. Anderson

Samoa Joe

Jay Lethal

AJ Styles

Hernandez

Kurt Angle

“The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero

Rob Terry

Abyss to the ring with his weapon and a side of beef. He speaks, “RVD, THEY have a plan for you… It’s beyond extreme tonight, I’m going to share that plan with you…” He introduces us to his girl, the weapon, Janice. He hits the beef with it and then chews on the raw meat. “You’re going to realize RVD, how big of a bitch my girl really is!”

Backstage: Taylor Wilde & Sarita brawling it out, and eventually leads them to the Impact Zone.

Street Fight
Taylor Wilde & Sarita
WINNER: Sarita via ref stoppage after choking out Taylor with someone’s purse straps.

Backstage: RVD walking the hallways. Says that Abyss has a helluva weapon, but he’s not easily intimidated.

Backstage: Eric Bischoff’s assistant, Miss Tessmacher, is sitting in the office getting pissed off at someone over the phone when Kevin Nash walks in looking for Bischoff. Eric is avoiding him. So instead of getting absolutely pissed, he hits on Miss Tessmacher making a meeting with her for later tonight.

Non-Title, I Quit Match
Brian Kendrick vs. Doug Williams
WINNER: Kendrick via submission after locking on the Cobra Clutch

Post match, Kevin Nash comes to the ring and Kendrick jaws at him for stealing his thunder. Nash choke slams him. Nash takes a mic and vents his frustrations about Eric Bischoff & Hulk Hogan, and then threatens to take out some of their boys.

Jeff Jarrett comes out to try to reason with Nash. He then tells Nash that it’s not about them anymore. Jarrett then calls him an egotistical son of a bitch.

Nash glares… “Why would you be taking up for Hogan & Bischoff? You want trouble with me, you got it!”

Backstage: Nash speaks to camera, trying to figure out why Jeff Jarrett is sticking up for Hogan & Bischoff.

Non-Title Match
Desmond Wolfe with Chelsea vs. Rob Terry vs. Samoa Joe
WINNER: Joe via submission after locking a Rear Naked Choke on Wolfe

Mid match, Brutus Magnus makes his return and heads to the announce desk.

Post match, Chelsea’s disappointed with Wolfe, and Joe gives Big Rob a pat on the back essentially saying, nice try.

Backstage: Ric Flair says that he’s going to be making an announcement that’s going to make TNA bigger!

Best of Five Series (1 of 5) – Ladder Match
Beer Money Inc. vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Champions)
WINNERS: Beer Money via retrieving the contract

Mid match, ref took a bump to the outside. Chris Sabin climbed the ladder and grabbed the contract, but James Storm hit him in the head with his beer bottle and stole the contract. By the time the second referee saw things, the contract was in Storm’s hands. Beer Money gets to pick the stipulation of the next match in the Best of Five.

Backstage: Abyss has repaired his girl (broke it in opening segment), and is now destroying a watermelon.

Matt Morgan vs. “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero
WINNER: Pope via pin fall after hitting a Lung Blower

Post match, Morgan attacks Pope from behind. He eventually sets up Pope for the boot to the head against the post when Mr. Anderson’s music hits and he gets in the way. Anderson rolls Pope into the ring and invites Morgan in, but then beats up on Morgan.

Anderson then extends a hand to Pope, but Dinero is unsure, just gives him a little head nod.

Backstage: Lacey Von Erich & Velvet Sky are talking about their issues with Madison Rayne especially over the fact that Madison brought in another member to help her at Victory Road. LVE wants to hear Madison’s side of the stroy, but Velvet wants to put her foot up Madison’s ass!

Madison Rayne is in the ring. She is formally protesting being stripped of the TNA Knockout’s Title. She quotes the stipulation of the match being that if Velvet or Lacey interfered, then she’d be stripped of the title via DQ. She is giving TNA seven days before she sues them.

Out walk Velvet and Lacey. Velvet calls out Madison for bringing in another member with out asking them about it.

Madison tells them that she did what she had to do.

Velvet is pissed because it seems as if Madison doesn’t need them anymore. Madison actually admits it!

Lacey tries to get in between them, and Velvet threatens to kick her ass right now!

The NEW Knockout’s Champion, Angelina Love, comes to the ramp and claims they are the worst actors of all time.

Velvet claims the biker chick is NOT her, and then leaves Angelina to have Madison all to herself. Cat fight breaks out between them, and the biker chick rides to ring side and then attacks Angelina. Madison hits Angelina with a DDT on a chair.

Backstage: Jeff Hardy speaks highly of the Jay Lethal vs. Ric Flair match from Victory Road, but tonight Lethal has to face him, one-on-one, tonight.

Jay Lethal vs. Jeff Hardy
WINNER: Hardy via pin fall after hitting a Swanton

Mid match, ECW guys (Tommy Dreamer, Stevie Richards, Raven & Rhino) take seat in the crowd.

Ric Flair to the ring with AJ Styles & Kazarian. Flair’s announcement is that they are the first two members of his new faction, Fortune.

Desmond Wolfe comes out to the ring to complain to Flair about being in the group.

Abyss comes out with his girl, and Fortune runs for the hills. Abyss calls RVD to the ring. Abyss shares the plans THEY have for him… “When THEY get here THEY are taking over… THEY have instructed me to get the TNA Title off of you… We’re going to take my girl Janice, and hang her 15 feet in the air, and we’re going to have the most extreme match in the history of pro wrestling.. The only thing left is when/where…”

RVD takes the mic, “I know what this title means… This is mine…” Brawl breaks out. RVD takes the early advantage, but Abyss turns it around and then goes for Janice.

Mick Foley appears on the ramp and it distracts Abyss momentarily. During that time span, the ECW guys jump the rail and attack Abyss. TNA security and some TNA superstars come out to break things up, but the brawl gets bigger. Some of the road agents, D-Lo Brown & Al Snow, come out and start fighting with TNA stars. Brother Devon comes out and doesn’t hit a single person that “used to be in ECW.”

Jeff Jarrett comes to the ramp and tries to cool people’s jets, to no avail. The police are even sent to the ring.

Dixie Carter is shown, and she jumps the rail and takes a mic. She calls for them to stop, and that she invited them… Jarrett looks perplexed.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

I’m not shocked to see that Abyss is the #1 contender. He’s going on a rampage right now, and he’s not looking like he’s going to stop until he destroys RVD and takes home the TNA World Title.

The tag team ladder match was the match of the night. Ultimately that was a PPV quality match on regular TV. I’m really excited that TNA is going to start taking a tag team rivalry seriously now. The Guns and Beer Money can work, and they know what it takes to get over with a crowd. Ultimately, this rivalry will be one of the highlights for Impact shows in the coming months.

I also have to say that the Street Fight between Taylor Wilde & Sarita was great!!! I love watching women go hardcore. It seems like sometimes the women get treated like little flowers when it comes to being on TV, and I’m glad that TNA is growing a set again and allowing them to get a little crazy in hardcore type fashion.

The ending of the show was very chaotic, and somewhat of a cluster f**k. It’s almost as if all of the ECW guys are going to band together in an “invasion” sort of angle. The telling sign was when Brother Devon walked out and didn’t hit a single person from the former ECW, including the TNA World Champion RVD. I just don’t know why Dixie Carter is getting involved in the story line though… The last thing I want to see is now that Hogan/Bischoff are slowly phasing themselves out of the day to day story lines is Dixie phasing herself in.
