Hideo Itami with Funaki vs. Viktor of the Ascension with Konnor

Two weeks ago, Hideo Itami cost the Ascension their NXT Tag Team Championship rematch against the Lucha Dragons when he came out to the center of the stage. He caused Konnor and Viktor to be distracted and would go onto pick up the win. They would return the favor last week by beating down Itami before his match with Viktor event started.

Later on in the show, Itami’s friend and former WWE star, Funaki, would meet him in the trainer’s room and say that he has his back, thus the reason why he will be at ringside for this.

It will be interesting to see where this one goes. I suspect that Funaki could be on the receiving end of a beat down by the aggressive duo so they can go two on one with Itami again. Eventually, it should lead to a certain international star lending some help (hint).
