John Cena vs. Seth Rollins
Cena wasted no time in going after Rollins and attacking his injured ribs.
Rollins continued to show why he is the best heel in the company, successfully using as many underhanded tactics as he could to get control.
This is the most active that Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury have been during a Seth Rollins match (Hell in a Cell, notwithstanding) and it brought something extra to the match.
The final minutes of this match were excellent. With Rollins and Cena trading haymakers back-and-forth, but neither man was able to put the other away.
In the end, Rollins had Cena set up for a curb stomp, but Cena countered by locking in the STF. Kane ran in and broke up the submission hold.
Cena defeats Rollins via DQ.
After the match, Kane and Rollins continued the attack on Cena, until Ziggler ran down to make the save. Noble and Mercury then got involved, before the entire locker room ran down and started brawling with each other.
Cena hit AAs on Heath Slater and Bo Dallas, before staring down The Authority to close the show.
3.75 out of 5 stars – Really good match from Cena and Rollins, with a sensible finish.
Not totally sure I understand, the end of the segment, but I’ll see where they take it and reserve judgement. My first impression isn’t good though.
