WWE: Ranking the Top 5 Best Character Turns of 2014

4) Nikki Bella
Nikki Bella’s heel turn at the SummerSlam PPV checks in at number four on our list.
The storyline of Nikki turning heel was set-up at the Payback PPV in May, when her sister Brie “quit” WWE. She was not happy with Stephanie McMahon stripping her husband Daniel Bryan of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, due to injury.
Following Brie leaving the company, McMahon would put Nikki in handicap matches as a punishment.
When Brie returned, she confronted the Principle Owner of WWE about what she was doing to her sister. This led to a very hot feud between the two for about a month and set up a match at SummerSlam. This was the first time that McMahon had wrestled a match in over a decade.
During their match, it looked like Nikki was coming out to give Brie some backup to even the odds (Triple H was out there to support his wife). Once she entered the ring, she pulled McMahon out of the way and hit her sister in the face. She was sick and tired of seeing Brie get all the spotlight after putting her sister through hell for months.
While many expected this to happen, it was still very dramatic and the Staples Center crowd reacted in shock to it. It was well-executed and set Nikki up for a run as the top heel of the Divas division (Paige’s heel run has fell flat). She’s going to face AJ Lee at the Survivor Series PPV for the WWE Divas Championship and potentially make her new character look even better.
The next star on the list chose the opposite of Nikki Bella and turned on The Authority.
