Jack Swagger vs. Titus O’Neil

Swagger came out strong in his hometown, as he had control over Titus. However, Titus’ brute strength helped him take control.

Swagger worked his way back into the match, and eventually made Titus tap to the Patriot Lock.

Swagger defeats O’Neil via submission.

2.75 out of 5 stars – Despite them cooling Swagger off since his last storyline with Rusev, the crowd is still into him, and they really want to see him beat Rusev. It’s a credit to Swagger and Zeb Colter, they switched heel to face on a dime and didn’t miss a step.

Jack Swagger in-ring w/ Renee Young

Renee climbed in the ring and asked Swagger about Rusev attacking Zeb Colter on Raw.

Swagger said that Zeb is a great American and a hero, but on top of that, Swagger looks at him like a father. He said that Rusev doesn’t deserve the United States Championship, and that he intends to take it from him.

Swagger really held his own here. I wonder if this angle is being used to see if Swagger can work without Zeb. If that’s the case, I’d say he passed that test.
