McMahon says he’s had to make some “difficult decisions.” But first, he says Stone Cold Steve Austin was trying to take his head off, not Dude Love’s.

The Chairman says he’s suffered a mild concussion, but has no impairment in judgement. He asks the crowd if Austin should be fired and responds with “not yet,” but with other plans.

McMahon says Austin will defend the WWF Championship against Goldust. He announces and brings out the special guest referee for the match—Gerald Brisco.

McMahon says if Austin lays one finger on Brisco, The Rattlesnake’s contract will be terminated. Brisco is asked if he will be unbiased, and responds with “yes.”

The Boss asks how Goldust would represent the WWF as their champion, to which he says “anyone would be better.”
