Enzo Amore and Big Cass w/Carmella vs. Finn Balor and Samoa Joe
Result: Finn Balor and Samoa Joe defeated Enzo Amore and Big Cass via pinfall (Coup de Grace).
Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Hot start to NXT this week with the most anticipated match going on first. Samoa Joe starts off against Big Cass. Joe starts out with a flurry of jabs, but Cass knocks him to the outside and the two brawl on the arena floor. Enzo dives through the ropes onto Joe and Balor dives onto Cass as we go to a quick break.
Back from the break and Joe and Cass are on the inside. Cass gets caught with a kick to the back of the head from Balor, but regains control. Cass hits Joe and Balor with big boots and then an empire elbow to Joe for just a two count. Enzo gets tagged in and they hit Air Enzo. At two, Joe rolls out of the pin and picks up Enzo. Balor tags in, Joe hits the Muscle Buster followed by a Coup de Grace from Balor for the victory. Balor and Joe advance to TakeOver: Respect to face Dash and Dawson.
Evan’s Note: This was a very good match. It’s smart to let the fall out between Balor and Joe wait until TakeOver, but it is pretty sad Enzo & Cass won’t be on the card. Hopefully they’ll be able to find a spot for the Enzo & Cass on the card next week.
Gargano and Ciampa Interview
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa are asked how their NXT experience has been. They say they didn’t meet their own standards but they exceeded their own. Gargano says he has a match tonight against one of his friends, Apollo Crews. Tyler Breeze interrupts and says any friend of Crews is an enemy of his, and says he will go ask General Manager William Regal for a match with Ciampa tonight.
