4. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley, NXT Women’s Championship Match, NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn

Where do you start with this match? It was billed as the co-main event alongside Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship. It was a match that on paper could steal the show and by God did it do that!

We had seen many matches between these two, also throwing in Charlotte and Becky Lynch and the Four Horsewomen of NXT were here to stay. These four women really are the future of women’s wrestling in WWE.

This match was the arrogant champion vs the loveable underdog. Bayley was the massive fan favorite, her journey for this belt seemingly started over two years before this match. Sasha came in as the champion who knew exactly how good she was and wasn’t afraid to tell everyone.

Banks came out with the entourage of body guards. Bayley came out to a massive pop with the fans well behind her, this was her moment of truth. At times this was a brutal match, both women throwing kicks, locking in submissions and giving it their all to get the win. Banks tried her hardest to take out Bayley, including trapping her hand behind the steps and delivering a sickening kick, before trying to break it again whilst Bayley was locked in her Bank Statement submission.

Both women hit numerous near falls, before Bayley managed to hit a reverse hurricanrana followed by her patented Bayley to Belly suplex for the three count to become your new NXT Women’s Champion. She stood in the ring with tears running down her face as Charlotte and Becky came down and embraced her. Sasha would join them and recreate the infamous Curtain Call.

They will face each other again at TakeOver Respect in the first ever Iron Man match in NXT history. If the last encounter is anything to go by this match more than deserves its main event billing.
