Jordan & Gable are the next World’s Greatest Tag Team

Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas were known as “The World’s Greatest Tag Team” during their run in WWE during the 2000s, and continued to be one of the best tag teams during their run in Ring of Honor. Another team similar to them has arrived in WWE, and they are ready, willing and Gable to fill a similar role.

Jason Jordan and Chad Gable are both tremendous athletes like Haas and Benjamin. The two worked three great matches during the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, including an amazing match in the semi finals against Rhyno & Baron Corbin. Both JJ and Gable have amateur wrestling backgrounds in college, and Gable in the Olympics (similar to Benjamin and Haas’ former mentor, Kurt Angle).

JJ and Gable have been one of the best teams in a deep NXT tag team division, consistently delivering in the ring like Haas and Benjamin. One place where JJ and Gable may surpass Haas and Benjamin however is in the charisma department.

JJ and Gable have been entertaining in backstage segments and interviews ever since they began to team up. Gable’s running gag of using his “ready, willing & Gable” catchphrase with JJ has been entertaining, but the team is also able to convey seriousness when needed. This is where they have a leg up on Haas and Benjamin, who struggled to connect with fans early in their career.

Saying Jordan and Gable will be the next “World’s Greatest Tag Team” may be an early comparison. These two have the talent to match their predecessors, and the charisma to maybe even surpass them in their success on the main roster. If Jordan and Gable are given the opportunity on the main roster and the freedom to be themselves, they may just fill those shoes left by Haas and Benjamin.
