Samoa Joe

It is hard to imagine the WWE signing a veteran talent at the age of 36 without some plans to bring him to the main roster sooner than later. But maybe his time in NXT is the initial step to introducing him and other stars who have made their name elsewhere, which is why he probably has a few more months before we start hearing about his debut sometime after WrestleMania season.

Ever since his days in TNA Wrestling during triple threat matches with A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels for the X-Division Championship, his abilities as what some would describe has a near-300 pound Samoan cruiserweight have been simply amazing to watch. There are not many superstars that have combined the powerhouse, cruiserweight and technical styles that Samoa Joe has done during his 16-year career in professional wrestling.

The potential fantasy matchups are endless with someone like Samoa Joe and can be built up with the proper booking within his first year on the main roster – including a feud with Brock Lesnar that can utilize their ties to mixed martial arts to create a very entertaining match that is unique in its own way. It is also not far from the realm of possibility to have Samoa Joe instantly feud with Kevin Owens since there was never really a conclusion from their June 17 no contest brawl.

While it’s unlikely the WWE will allow the infamous “Joe is gonna kill you” chant in the PG era, I’m sure the WWE Universe can find other ways to warn Joe’s future opponents of their impending fate.
