What happened?

This wasn’t much of a match. Sheamus defeated Miz easily to retain the U.S. Championship.

Did this match have any implications after the PPV?

Sheamus would lose the U.S. title to Rusev, who was in the midst of a big push, on the WWE Network following an episode of Raw.

A few weeks later, Mark Henry would injure Sheamus in storyline by putting him through the announce table. This would remove the Celtic Warrior from Team Cena, who was set to face Team Authority at Survivor Series days later. He would be out of action until the Raw after WrestleMania 31.

The Miz would go into a program with his “assistant” Damien Mizdow. They would win the WWE Tag Team Championship at Survivor Series but drop them at Royal Rumble. Mizdow and Miz eventually had a brief feud following WrestleMania 31.
