All the Other Champions Must Retain at Hell in a Cell

There are several factors that come into play here: First, with the exception of Seth Rollins, none of the current champions’ reigns have lasted much more than two months. After some steady runs by Rollins, Cena and Nikki Bella, the ADHD era of booking short title reigns looks like it could finally die out in 2015.

Furthermore, the majority of the current champions haven’t been on the main roster for more than three years. It’s a breath of fresh air to have so many first-time title reigns, and everyone holding a belt right now—both old and new—are good wrestlers and entertainers. Like crazy good.

As talented as the competition is at Hell in a Cell, it just doesn’t feel like the right time to put the belts back on any of the number one contenders: Nikki Bell is coming off the longest Divas Championship reign of all time; Ryback already had a run a with the IC Title this year; the Dudleys have won enough tag team championships for one lifetime, and Kane is… Kane. As sad of a thought as it is to have about one of the greatest and most enduring Superstars to come out of the last twenty years, Kane’s days as a WWE World Heavyweight Champion are more than likely behind him.

Lastly, WrestleMania season is right around the corner. And you know what makes for the best feel-good moments at WrestleMania? When the good guy finally triumphs over the evil champion and puts a long overdue end to his/her reign of terror. Those reigns of terrors need to start picking up steam right now, and seeing as we already have three titles in the firm control of heels, there’s no need to interrupt said reigns with a forgettable face run that probably won’t last past the Royal Rumble.

Plain and simple: the belts need to stay put.

I should add that there also some other people in need of a victory at Hell in a Cell also…
