New No. 1 Contender to Be Determined Tonight
A short time ago, WWE.com announced that the winners from last night’s matches will compete in a series of singles matches on Raw tonight to determine the new No. 1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Brock Lesnar, Alberto Del Rio, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Big E, Kofi Kingston, Cesaro, Neville and Dolph Ziggler all won matches last night.
It doesn’t seem like Lesnar will be around for this, though, as PWInsider reports he is not backstage for the show. Obviously, it means he’ll be excluded.
The favorite from this would have to be Reigns. WWE has been prepping to relaunch his push all year long, so he would seemingly be the guy to become the new No. 1 Contender. It would be refreshing to see one of the other names become next in line for Seth Rollins’ title, though.
