10. Charlotte
Last Week: 8
I can’t figure out what the deal is with Charlotte. Out of all the current champions on the roster, she is the only one who regularly goes an entire week without a match. She’s done plenty of backstage interviews talking about how she’s more than just Ric Flair’s daughter, but we all know talk is cheap. To be the (wo)man, you need to beat somebody every now and then.
9. New Day
Last Week: 7
The New Day got a boost this week with the return of Xavier Woods, but that’s all that has gone right for them as of late. Last month they were being built up as a formidable stable that was poised to take over the WWE; however, now they’re regressing into Seth Rollins’ air band (which they’re also good at). The New Day needs to make some changes soon or they’ll be falling out of the Top-10 very shortly.
8. Dolph Ziggler
Last Week: 9
Ziggler is a hard person to place on these rankings. He’s the guy who beats the majority of the mid-card, but when he’s placed against a top-tier player, it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that he’s going to lose. Take this week for example: Halloween Street Fight versus the Miz? Ziggler is going to take that match (nice pumpkin super kick, by the way). Regular match versus Kevin Owens? Ziggler doesn’t have a chance.
A little over a year ago, Dolph put on one of the most memorable Survivor Series performances in recent memory. It’s disappointing to see him only treading water twelve months later.
7. The Lucha Dragons
Last Week: –
LUCHA! LUCHA! LUCHA!
Now that that’s out of the way, the Lucha Dragons have put together a nice little winning streak of late. They posted back-to-back tag team victories on SmackDown and Raw this week, and Kalisto also picked up a pin over Viktor on Superstars in singles competition (not that anyone noticed). Looks like they’re on their way to becoming the next challengers for the New Day’s tag belts.
6. Paige
Last Week: –
Paige is reestablishing herself as the wrestler to beat in the Divas Division, even if she isn’t wearing the championship right now. And that could change soon since she emerged as the number one contender for the Divas Championship after a fantastic fatal four-way match on Monday Night Raw, which, I might add, featured great performances from all the competitors.
