  1. Alex Riley

The former assistant to the Miz had a chance of being a breakout star after his feud with the former WWE Champion in 2011. But since then, he was a mid-card talent at best and really didn’t have any type of gimmick that set him apart.

After several months of acting as the jobber to wrestlers like Brodus Clay, Tensai and Heath Slater – yes, even Slater – the WWE decided to have Riley make the move to color commentary for both Superstars and the NXT brand. This felt like an okay move because there have been a number of wrestlers who can become successful on commentary.

In the later parts of 2014 and early 2015, Riley wanted to start a social media movement to get him back in the ring. It worked because he had a brief feud with Kevin Owens. He also had an appearance in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania in March.

Yet his health became a factor and had to have surgery for degenerative arthritis in one of his knees – which is the joint meant for helping the motion of that area. An injury like that could spell the end for Riley, which is a sad fact in the business side of WWE.

Granted, I will admit I liked his theme song – just not a big fan of Riley.
