Five-on-Five Women’s Survivor Series Elimination Match: Fabulous Moolah, Rockin’ Robin, Velvet McIntyre and the Jumping Bomb Angels (Yamazaki and Tateno) vs. Sensational Sherri, The Glamour Girls (Kai and Martin), Donna Christianello and Dawn Marie
Result: Team Moolah defeated Team Sherri
Survivors: The Jumping Bomb Angels
Rating: 2.8 out of 5 stars
The main feud here was between Sensational Sherri and the Fabulous Moolah, in which Moolah had earlier lost the WWF Women’s Championship to Sensational Sherri.
The first elimination in the match came rather early after Velvet McIntyre pinned Donna Christianello with a victory roll. Team Moolah increased their lead shortly after when Rockin’ Robin, who had recently debuted in the WWF hit a cross-body on Dawn Marie and pinned her to even the score.
The Jumping Bomb Angels, who were also new to the WWF, kept the momentum rolling by putting their unorthodox offense on display, And even though they were dominating the action, the Bomb Angels decided to let Rockin’ Robin back in the ring.
Robin got pinned by the Women’s Champion after a suplex.
The real shockers started rolling in when Judy Martin—who was one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions (wait, what?), the Glamour Girls—scored a pinfall on the Fabulous Moolha.
With championship gold filling out the other corner of the ring, Team Moolah looked to be in bad shape, even if the score was tied. No matter to Velvet McIntyre; she was undaunted. She gained some momentum by hitting Sensational Sherri with a giant swing. And just as Sherri looked like she might be mounting a comeback by getting McIntyre in position for an electric chair drop, Velvet reversed it and pinned the Women’s Champion with another victory roll.
At three-on-two, the Glamour Girls held their own. Leilani Kai successfully connected with an electric chair drop on Velvet McIntyre, getting the next elimination and setting up an impromptu tag match between the Glamour Girls and the Jumping Bomb Angels.
The Jumping Bomb Angels continued to impress, and Yamazaki flew off the top rope to land a cross-body on Kai, which led to another a pinfall. Bless her heart for trying, but sole survivor Judy Martin had no chance against the Jumping Bomb Angels’ teamwork, and she was finally eliminated after a top-rope clothesline.
