A battle of two beasts came early in the card at match number three. Joe is on a roll of late in NXT and looks set to be the biggest test of Finn Balor’s NXT title reign in a few days time. Apollo Crews is a man who will hold the NXT title in the next 12 months and will go on to be one of the most important men in the future of WWE as a whole. This was a quality battle between two of the toughest men in NXT.

A stiff match was highlighted with hard hitting moves a plenty. Neither men held back with punches and kicks that looked ridiculously hard. Joe hit a handful of big slams, including a big powerslam on a running Crews that has to be seen to be believed. Apollo is unbelievably  agile for such a big man, hitting drop kicks and flying like a cruiserweight. A brutal looking slam in the corner looked to have Crews down for the three but he managed to kick out. Throughout the match Joe looked to get the pin but Apollo continually kicked out at 1.

Crews hit his slam and standing moon sault combination but he could only get a two count. In a strong finish Crew went to the top but was caught by Joe into a Muscle Buster to finally win the match. Joe is a beast in the ring and pulls off the heel role to amazing success, he will be the best match up yet for Balor and the NXT Championship.

Both men were ridiculously over with the Sheffield crowd. Crews was the recipient of numerous chants trying to integrate his former “Uhaa” name into songs which brought some ingenious songs to life. The crowd was well behind Joe, you just now he wanted to soak up the applause even though his heel persona wouldn’t allow it.
