Charlotte vs. Paige (Divas Title Match)

WWE decided to let these two go at it for a second PPV in a row, storyline wise, it made sense, but this match did not deliver like the one at Survivor Series. Paige focused a lot more on Ric this time around, which obviously got him – if this is possible – more involved in their feud and in last night’s match, as well. I have nothing against Flair, he’s a legend, at my parent’s house we have a Ric Flair action figure nailed down to the top of our flag pole, the guy is great!

What’s not great is how much Charlotte is copying her Dad, and how much he was involved in a match that honestly, doesn’t need him. Paige and Charlotte can handle a match without all the shenanigans on the outside. Creative has decided to move Charlotte more towards a heel, which is a better fit for her, but she doesn’t have to be Ric Flair 2.0. Not only did she “Flair Flop,” but she rolled out of the ring to the floor, with her hands up to Paige and said “whoa!” just like Ric would do.

It’s one thing to connect Charlotte to Ric, but this is getting ridiculous. The match itself was okay, with tons of mocking and taunting, so if you missed their Survivor Series match, check it out, otherwise, pass.
