3. The New Day

Last Rank: 3

Week Highlights: Won an incredible ladder match at TLC; were temporarily good sports about it.

Enough cannot be said about that triple-threat ladder match at TLC. It was absolutely captivating and jaw-dropping from bell to bell, and the New Day played just as an important role in the contest as the Lucha Dragons and the Usos. The difference between the New Day and the other two teams, though, is that the New Day were already much further along in regard to their integrity as a tag team.

The Dragons and the Usos needed the match at TLC in order to show they were truly relevant in the tag team scene; the New Day, however, were faced with a proving ground to establish whether they are some of the best all-around Superstars on the roster today, period.

Mission accomplished.

Dean Ambrose

Last Rank: 4

Week Highlights: Won the Intercontinental Championship, no Roman Reigns needed.

Finally Dean Ambrose got to shine without any sign or mention of Roman Reigns whatsoever. And he absolutely killed it.

It helps when you face off against one of the best pure wrestlers on the roster; however, Ambrose’s match at TLC not only demonstrated his own athleticism, but his popularity as a singles competitor. When Ambrose scored the pinfall to net his first Intercontinental Title, the arena erupted, and he was met with an equal ovation when he came out the next night on Raw.

Ambrose is arguably the hottest Superstar in the WWE right now, but he has some clear competition from the number one wrestler on this week’s power rankings…
